About the team
The Minnesota Loons Lacrosse Program is the longest-running club lacrosse program in Minnesota. It was founded with the goal of providing talented high school players exposure to NCAA recruits, premiere showcase competition across the country, and coaching to take their game to the next level. The program emphasizes not only improving lacrosse skills and techniques but also developing a strong work ethic and inspiring players both on and off the field.
In 2017, the Minnesota Loons opened the Loons Training Center (LTC), a dedicated facility for player development. This center includes a field turf playing area, fitness gym, editing/study suites, and a team lounge, providing athletes with an unparalleled training environment. The program expanded in 2019 to include girls’ lacrosse teams, supported by experienced coaches with backgrounds in NCAA and youth lacrosse.
The Loons program is known for its comprehensive approach to player development. They offer year-round training options, including field lacrosse, box lacrosse, and fitness training. The club participates in various tournaments and showcase events across the country, providing players with exposure to college recruiters. Their philosophy emphasizes creative, aggressive play with a hybrid style that incorporates both box lacrosse tendencies and traditional field motions.
The Minnesota Loons have a strong track record of player development and college placement. Alumni from the program have gone on to attend over 120 colleges, institutions, or branches of the military. The club prides itself on not just developing skilled athletes but also fostering personal growth, emphasizing the importance of academics, and preparing players for future success both in lacrosse and in life.
