About the team
The Minnesota Lacrosse Academy is dedicated to developing advanced female lacrosse players, with a mission to accelerate the growth of emerging youth and high school athletes. The academy offers a range of programs, from local development initiatives to competitive club travel teams, catering to players of various skill levels – from beginners to college-bound experienced players.
MLA’s philosophy centers around the “3D triad” of Desire, Dedication, and Discipline. They aim to partner with student-athletes, initially focusing on fundamentals before progressing to advanced lacrosse techniques. The academy’s goal is to prepare players for post-high school participation, potentially leading to college-level play. While they don’t guarantee athletic scholarships, they strive to provide every participant with the maximum opportunity to excel and succeed in lacrosse and life.
The academy offers a comprehensive program that includes fall and winter development sessions, summer training, and participation in local, regional, and national tournaments. They emphasize skill development, lacrosse IQ enhancement, and providing exposure to college coaches. MLA also supports players in the college search and selection process, offering guidance on NCAA regulations and compliance. Through their commitment to high-level coaching, demanding practices, and competitive play, the Minnesota Lacrosse Academy aims to close the gap between Central Minnesota players and those from more established lacrosse regions, ultimately preparing their athletes to “Engage and Expect to Soar.”
